Sahebs - the Indian restaurant, simply put is a love affair with Indian cuisine,
with the age-old traditions of our grandmother’s cooking, the history of Indian food and the Indian culture of “Athithi Devo Bhava” which means “Guest is God”.
Of Course, the history of cooking the best Indian cuisine is rich in history and tradition – From the great vegetarian indian cuisine of the Ayurvedic era to the Persians and their tandoori meat cooking techniques to the colonial era of European influences and “Fusion Indian cooking “ techniques , fine Indian dining, naturally gluten free and vegan, has imbibed it all and become more richer by association.
We, Sahebs – the Indian restaurant, located at Orchard road Singapore are passionate proponents of our authentic Indian cuisine and service standards for the last 30 years but we try not to take ourselves too seriously – life is also about having a good laugh and we believe there is nothing like a GREAT Indian meal to realize; that the ”here and now“ is what matters and everything else in life (the job, wife, kids and so on) generally tend to take care of themselves.

May 14, 2024Saheb Indian $150 for 2 (including drinks) Convenient location at the corner of claymore connect. Restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. Decor is old school Indian (in a good way) Starters: Yogurt filled golgappe and a refreshing ginger lime drink. Golgappe were a delight and yogurt was cooling in this weather. Presentation was also perfect. Drink was passable though. 4 stars Main course: I ordered the spinach lamb with thick gravy, paneer (cottage cheese) Parantha, raita (yogurt) and aloo Parantha (stuffed potato). Everything was cooked to perfection and served hot. The photos don't even do justice to the authentic cooking of these dishes. 5 stars here. Dessert: Carrot mashed and cooked typical Indian style. Served hot. (Gajar ka Halwa). This was also good and I recommend. Was served with a generic ice-cream. Ice cream was avoidable. 3 stars I must mention the owner Mr. Sandeep here. He was the star of the show. Working so hard and talked so passionately about his restaurant. It was wonderful to see a hard working gentleman, trying his best to make this place work. I wish him all the best and hope this restaurant does well.

May 8, 2024Very nice restaurant! We were a little hesitant to try since there were not many reviews; however, glad we didn’t let that deter us. Dim lighting and cozy atmosphere, with about 6 tables inside, but also room for outdoor seating. Website makes it easy to make your reservation in advance. My husband got the lamb dum biryani, he said the lamb was tender, and good balance of flavors. I ordered the Railway mutton curry with spice level 2 (plus rice) and we shared an order of garlic naan. All were delicious! Also for drinks, went with the mocktails: Fresh Watermelon Agua Fresca and Highway lime soda, both were great! The people who worked there were responsive to their customers and very friendly. Highly recommend a visit here!

May 1, 2024Amazing food!! Ordered the vindaloo and black dal. Very few outlets get their Vindaloo right and this was bang on! Perfectly spicy and tangy. Butter roti was nice too - soft at the centre and crisp around the edges, with the right amount of butter. They have Pani puri as well 🙂 Good service and ambience. Glad to finally have an Indian joint in this belt of orchard. Do give it a try!

April 30, 2024I had the butter chicken and a side order of the garlic naan, and it was absolute nirvana! Having eaten Indian food in restaurants across the globe, including the US, the UK, and even France, this rates among some of the best I’ve had! The seasoning and spice level of my main dish was perfect, and complimented well with my Kingfisher beer. The naan was soft, chewy, and crispy all at one (how the hell did you do that?) and very flavorful! The service: Perfect! Very attentive to his guests, warm, and friendly. I only had one disappointment with my experience and that was that I couldn’t convince the owner to pick up shop and move closer to where I live in the US so I could eat his food at least once a week! I strongly recommend giving Saheb’s a shot. You won’t be disappointed!

Brand new restaurant that you must try. Food is truly excellent and flavorful (LOVED the butter chicken), drinks are great, atmosphere is lovely with both indoor and outdoor dining. 10/10 recommend.

April 18, 2024Had lunch at Sahebs. The food is absolutely stunning! I found my place to go for Indian Cuisine. I love their Chicken Tikka, tender and tasty, Palak Paneer- fresh paneer, Butter Chicken is a must as well. Oh not forgetting the aesthetic of the restaurant. Very elegant and cozy. We will be back with friends and family definitely. Thank you for the good food and service. Vegetarian options: Plenty Vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: Just tell the Manager and they will be happy to assist. Parking: City Center. Near Orchard Hotel
